Policy

1. University of Dubai Fees

1.1 Admission Fees

A non-refundable admission fee will be charged when the applicant submits his/her application form to the Admission and Registration Department. This fee will also apply to students who are being readmitted to the University. 

 

1.2 Placement Exam Fees

Placement exams fees, if any, may be applicable.

 

1.3 Tuition Fees

At the beginning of each semester, students must contact the Finance Department to arrange the payment of their fees. Students who do not pay the tuition fees within 48 hours of completing the advising and booking process will have their provisional bookings canceled. Any exceptions to this can only be made by the President. Current listing of tuition and other fees are made available to students through UD’s official mode of communication.  The University of Dubai reserves the right to increase 10% of the tuition fees as deemed necessary.

 

1.4 Registration Fees

A non-refundable registration fee will be charged for each regular semester and during short semesters, this fee is also applicable to visiting students. Continuing students, who fail to register during the regular registration time period, as announced in the academic calendar, will be charged an additional late registration fee per course. This additional fee does not apply to added courses (replaced during Drop & Add period or just added to complete registration) during the Drop & Add period.  Please refer to the current fee list for details.

 

1.5 Student Activities Fees

A non-refundable Student Activities fee will be charged for each regular semester and during short semesters, this fee is also applicable to visiting students. Exchange students are exempt from paying activity fees.

 

1.6 Student Exchange Program

Students in the exchange program pay fees as listed in the fees list.


2. Payment Terms

  1. Letter to immigration (for visa purpose) will be issued only to the registered students.

  2. The amount of down payment is equal to 1 course, registration and activity fee.

  3. Outstanding fees of current semester/term must be settled, if any, prior to registering for a new semester/term.

  4. To claim a government employee discount, students can produce their employee card only as proof of employment.

4. Referral Program

The “Referral program” is designed to acknowledge and reward loyal UD current students who actively promote and advocate for UD within the community. By participating in this initiative, UD current students can become eligible for benefits based on the number of students they refer to study at UD. For each new student successfully referred, the referrer student will receive a total of 2,500 AED: 1,250 AED after the referred student completes their first semester and 1,250 AED after the referred student completes their second semester.

This program is applicable to both Graduate and Undergraduate programs. However, referrals of siblings are not eligible under this program.  


 

 

 

4.1 Terms of Discounts for all levels:

The discounts above are subject to the following terms:

  1. UD/Dubai Chamber employees must have successfully completed their probation periods.

  2. Employees must be in a good standing position, i.e. have no disciplinary actions taken against them during their tenure at UD/Dubai Chamber.

  3. The student must satisfy all relevant admission criteria for the program he/she desires to join at UD.

  4. The student cannot combine discounts.

  5. The discounts mentioned above apply exclusively to course tuition fees. Preparation/foundation and bridging courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs are excluded from these discounts.

  6. To redeem discounts from Esaad, Fazaa, Al Saada, and other discount cards, the card must be presented in person to the Finance Department each time it is used for payment.

  7. All discounts are subject to change.




5. Scholarships

5.1 Undergraduate scholarships:

 

A. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship (Fall intake only) The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship is a merit-based award established in honor of his legacy and in gratitude to the people of the country. This scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for an undergraduate program at UD and is offered once a year during the fall semester to 3 exceptional students from all backgrounds, regardless of gender, race, religion, or nationality. Students who receive the scholarship are responsible for paying any additional miscellaneous fees required.

 

Eligible students must have a high school score of 98% or above and demonstrate academic excellence. Awardees must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or higher to retain the scholarship.The

 

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship is a merit scholarship which is offered as a tribute to his name and gratitude to the people of the country. The scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for the student’s undergraduate program at UD. The scholarship is only offered  once a year during the fall semester for only 3 lucky  students from all tiers of society, regardless of gender, race, religion, or nationality. The scholarship is available to all students who meet the prescribed criteria (a high school score of 98% and above). Students may apply for a scholarship on the basis of academic excellence. Awarded students must maintain a minimum CGPA of ≥ 3.5 to maintain the scholarship. 

 

B. The Merit Scholarship (Fall & Spring intakes only) 

The Merit Scholarship offers a 50% reduction on course tuition fees for all new applicants to UD undergraduate programs. This scholarship is awarded only to new students who have achieved a high school score of 90% or above. The student must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or higher to maintain the scholarship. 


C. Adel Al Kamel Scholarship (Fall intake only)
The Adel Al Kamel Scholarship covers 75% of course tuition fees for a student’s undergraduate program and is awarded to 5 outstanding students. This scholarship is available to both citizens and residents who achieve a minimum of 97% in high school. the student must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or higher to retain the scholarship.

 

 

5.2 Timeline for application and announcement of recipients:

  1. An announcement of available scholarships will be made in June of each year by the admissions department

  2. Applications for all available scholarships can be obtained from the Admissions Department

  3. Applications for scholarships are due by the 15th of July

  4. Scholarship recipients will be announced by the 1st of August

7. Accepted Forms of Payment:


E-Payment

Students can login into their student portal with their UD username and password and do the following steps:

  1. My Billing Ledger (Left Side list)

  2. Choose the correct semester

  3. Enter the amount

  4. Put your card details and complete the payment

Debit & Credit Cards and/or Cheque

All major debit and credit cards are accepted for payment at the Cashier’s Office, located on the 1st floor Main Building.

  • Deposits are accepted in the form of cash only.

  • The student’s name and UD ID number must be mentioned on the deposit instructions.

  • Scan the deposit confirmation and email to Fin@ud.ac.ae.

Apple Pay/

Installment/recurring payment using credit & or debit cards.

  • An online payment gateway through which you can pay using Apple Pay, installment payments via credit card (Partners bank), and recurring payments via credit/debit card on a regular basis such as weekly or monthly without requiring them to manually initiate each payment.

7. Payment on Installment

If full fees cannot be paid immediately, installments can be arranged with the Finance Department as follows:

  1. Number of installments: 1 down payment (PDC/Card/Cash) at the time of registration and 3 cheques installments for Spring / Fall Semester-last cheque is two weeks before the final exams.

  2. No installment payment facility is available for the summer semester and short courses (visiting students).

  3. All cheques must be physically submitted at the Cashier’s Office located on the 1st floor.

  4. Only cheques in UAE Dirhams drawn on a UAE Bank and made payable to University of Dubai are accepted.

  5. Include the student’s name and ID number on the back of each cheque.

  6. Bounce/return cheque for insufficient funds or similar are subject to a fine of AED 750 plus 5% VAT-1st time is free of charge.

  7. If more than 3 cheques are not clear, cheques are no longer accepted as a form of payment.

  8. Requests for extending the cheque date /replace cheque are subject to a fine of AED 250 plus 5% VAT.

  1. Registration/Activity/Enrollment/ID/Technology fees and all other miscellaneous fees are non-refundable regardless of any circumstances.

  2. Physical refunds are only available at graduation, visa cancellation, dismissal for academic or disciplinary reasons, or withdrawal from UD.

  3. Any excess balance available in the student account due to tuition overpayment or withdrawal/drop of the course within the deadline will be set aside to offset the cost of tuition for the following semester/term.

  4. Any refund of available funds in the student account will only be processed in the name of the source of the funds or the student account. The refund will be processed in the form of wire transfer.

8.3 Additional Terms
  1. The University has the right to decrease or remove the discount given to the students.

  2. Students who do not pay their outstanding balances will have their registration suspended, will be unable to access their records and they may not receive any letters of recommendation that are requested during this time period.

  3. The student cannot combine two discounts.

  4. Terms and conditions applied.

C. Category C Violations

A student that is facing Category C Violation will be reported to the police authority by the UD management. In addition, the student will also face disciplinary actions as per the UD Policies and Procedures Manual and UD Code of Conduct.
