External institutional relations has been expanded to provide the University Community with information about their services to external stakeholders.
The Institutional Relations Office is headed by the UD President through the President's Office. The Institutional Relations Office is the focal point of interaction between the University and the various levels of government and other external stakeholders. Due to its teaching, research and community related activities; the University maintains relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
The office works closely with all senior administration to further the University's strategic objectives.
The University’s impact on the economic and social development of Dubai and the UAE is extensive in the areas of planning and revitalization, community development and the promotion of Dubai and the UAE as a knowledge-based metropolis.
UD’s mandate is to:

Develop and implement public funding strategies for the enhancement of our operational funding and to advance our priority capital projects.

Help define and execute, both proactively and reactively, strategies regarding public policy issues which affect the University.

Ensure regular contact between senior University representatives and external officials, civil servants and other public interest groups in order to promote the interests of the University.

Prepare and present policy options, briefing materials, proposals, reports and other materials for the development of strong advocacy programs.

Liaise with sister institutions, representative organizations and other external public policy issues.
