Policy

UD is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all its academic and administrative operations. This policy aims to establish a comprehensive Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy that ensures transparency, integrity, and compliance with UAE laws and international best practices. The objective is to safeguard the University's reputation, maintain ethical business practices, and prevent unethical conduct in all interactions.

  1. Key Provisions

This policy  strictly prohibits bribery and corruption in any form. This includes:

  • Bribery: The offering, promising, giving, requesting, or accepting anything of value to gain an unfair advantage.

  • Corruption: The abuse of entrusted power for personal or organizational gain, including but not limited to bribery, embezzlement, fraud, or nepotism.

  • Facilitation Payments: Any unofficial payments made to expedite routine governmental processes.

  • Gifts & Hospitality: Excessive gifts, entertainment, or favors that may unduly influence decision-making. This excludes items of nominal value given as a customary token of appreciation.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Any situation where personal or financial interests interfere with professional duties.

  • Political & Charitable Contributions: Donations or contributions must not be used as a means to secure business advantages.

All stakeholders must adhere to these provisions to maintain UD’s ethical standards and regulatory compliance.

2.  Implementation and Compliance

The University’s leadership and management are responsible for the effective implementation and enforcement of this policy.

UD has an established Whistleblowing Policy (FP 5.29), which provides a confidential mechanism for reporting suspected violations.
