EESC 600 Advanced Satellite Communications
This course covers advanced topics in satellite communications systems such as time-harmonic fields, wave propagation in lossless and lossy media, digital communication techniques, the space link - transmission losses and the link budget power equation. Antenna parameters, multiple access, network reference models and protocols are also described. Brief overview of earth stations and related RF antenna subsystems and payload designs are detailed. Satellite launch vehicles and installation in the orbit are discussed along with space environment. An overview about space environment, RF and antennas subsystem is explained.
