Academic Catalog

EEDS 600 Advanced Digital Signal Processing

The course starts with fundamentals of digital signal processing such as sampling and quantization. The course covers in details popular transformation algorithms in signal processing such as Fourier Transform, Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Wavelet Transform. The course also discusses the design and analysis of digital filters. The course focuses on the application of digital signal processing for images. Digital mage acquisition and representation are described. Image enhancement and restoration techniques are evaluated. In addition, the course covers image segmentation and fundamentals of image compression. Multispectral imaging, hyperspectral imaging, super-resolution, and watermarking are also covered. The course concludes with fundamentals of video processing.
